Level 1 Award in Health and Safety at Work The Level 1 Award is aimed at all employees and provides basic knowledge and understanding of health and safety in the workplace.
Assessment is via a multiple-choice examination available online or paper-based, after around 6 hours of learning.
Entry Level Award in Workplace Hazard Awareness
This qualification is aimed at 14-19 year olds before they embark on work experience or their first job. Learners will find out about health and safety hazards, safety signs, personal protective equipment and the responsibilities of employers and employees.
Assessment is via a simple portfolio of evidence which is marked by the centre and externally moderated. Recommended learning and assessment time is 6 – 8 hours.
Course Requirement: 13+ years old.
These short courses are valuable vocational qualifications, which employers recognise and value. Students will learn how to assess risks and identify hazards and work, as well as how to report incidents.
